Change makes life better :)

Tears rolling down my cheeks, I, with my mom, leaving my dad and brother started from Chennai to Bengaluru with series of thoughts, dreams about that city for my career change. Yes! I got a very good offer from a startup as a UI/UX Designer. The next day morning I got off the train to a lovely weather and pleasant Bangalorean attitude. It was quite a surprise, for a lifelong Chennaite to find the auto-wala was ready for the ride with the meter on :O

We reached our new home. A new life. A new beginning. A feeling more like. I was damn hungry and we were not sure how to prepare breakfast. We heard a knock on the door. We were surprised. Little did we realize there was a surprise waiting for us. A surprise in the form of a plate of melting ghee aloo paratha with 2 cups of cardamom tea. It was our kind-hearted landlord. We thanked them as much as we could. Then we went to the nearby shops to buy groceries and induction stove. She took care of everything our new home needed. I call her “SUPERMOM”

The next day is my joining date in my new office. Using GPS I reached there, new bunch of friendly people, they welcomed me with their warm smile. I found that food, snacks, juices and much more will be available and the most exciting was the new big iMAC, freedom in work, flexible timings but still my heart was thinking about my old friends in Chennai. I was not happy, not able to concentrate on my work. I called my friends, my dad told them I want to come back to Chennai, I miss my happiness but they told me change is positive, if done the right way.

Love and happiness in unexpected form

There was a power-shut down on that day, our office UPS drained out completely. There was a sudden plan to Amoeba in MG road. After we reached there they split us in 2 teams I was new to snow bowling and was shy to play in front of my new colleagues. Each and everyone were accommodating, they were down to earth, they taught me how to play, they made me comfortable. They broke into my fear zone. That was the day I started living/enjoying my new start in a new city, Bengaluru.

Now its 2 years, I learnt so much in my career. Won few hackathons. Bengaluru has given me a good job, great friends, fantastic food, unexpected career growth. Now I love Bengaluru. I feel at home here.

Have courage, change your mind. It’s wonderful.
